The toast thief.

For years I have a habit of putting the toast in the toaster and making lunches, putting on washing or what ever while it cooks.
A few months ago every now and then I would go to get it and it wasn't there. I thought maybe I didn't put it in.
A few times the toaster was on its side. Odd.. Well you think I would have guessed, but being hot didn't think a paw would touch it. Until...
One day I had 2 peices of bread left. I have a toast thief. Luckily the odd peice of plain bread doesn't seem to do him any harm. I have never caught him doing it.
I put my toast in then felt terrible so took  a cup of tea and one peice of toast to lie on the bed before I went to work.He looked confused why I was eating in bed and stood at the door for ages before getting on the bed. I couldn't eat it, but he wanted it.. I will eat if if you don't want it Mum..No Ernie..NO...
He usually curls up beside me once he knows he can't have his way, but this day he went off to the kitchen straight to the toaster. I heard the toaster being tipped over. How the heck did he know I left a peice of toast in there.
By the time I got there he would have eaten it so didn't bother, closed my eyes and dozed.

I felt him get back on the bed and sit close to me. I heard a noise so opened my eyes to see what he was doing.
He was sitting propped up against the pillows piece of toast sticking out of his mouth eating it. He looked at me as if say "well I got my own then" and that it was perfectly normal for a dog to be propped up on pillows in bed eating toast. Very Happy
