I am besotted with Erns and couldn't imagine life without him...but...Some days his antics never stop and I want to crate him for weeks. He has 2 speeds. Sleep or full speed.

When Erns drives me silly like this I go to the village for a coffee. Everyone loves him and says what a gorgeous dog and isn't he obedient. Yeah right...I am sure he winks at me when he hears all this. I come home knowing he is the best dog for me.

Ernie never  getting up to antics, or looking for things to do. I am sure he planned and plotted things. When I first got him no matter how much training we did he remained the street wise dog wanting to do his own thing as he had done for the previous 3.5 years.

Erns taught me to grass surf, never trust his innocent eyes, and a dog can be stronger than a human both mentally and physically.  It took many lessons before I finally learned I might be heavier than him, but he could drag me and my chair any time he decided to chase a moth.

The first time I was having coffee with a friend. After putting his lead under the leg of my chair relaxed to drink my coffee and enjoy our chat.Erns sat quietly beside me waiting for a morsel of food until a women with a small dog went past. Erns decided to lunge after it. My seat flew sideways with me landing on my knees on the pavement as Erns raced past the dog and into a shop.

What possessed me to tie him to a cafe table will remain a mystery. I finished ordering  and was just about to go back outside to Erns who was sitting quietly tied to a very heavy cafe table when I heard a crash. I got to the door in time to see a man try to tackle Erns. This was one of Erns favourite games with his previous family so only added to his fun. Erns looked behind to see his table monster chasing him, and a stranger coming in for a rugby tackle excited and frightened him as he raced around.

He was never tied to a anything again unless it was embedded into the pavement until the day a friend tied him to a cafe table.

I was in the post office in the village with Erns tied outside when I met a friend who suggested we have coffee. While I waited in the queue she went to order our coffee and decided to take Erns. After she had gone I thought Oh heck I forgot to warn her about not tying him to a table, then thought she knows what he is like.

I was leaving the post office when through the window I saw the table go over. There was a crash as the table hit the side of the cafe wall. Erns took off zig zagging up the middle of the road missing parked cars by inches as the table monster chased  him. As I ran up the street I could see he was in line with the buckets of flowers outside the dairy and hoped luck was on our side, or he would change course or miss them. Erns wasn't the dairy owners favourite dog. Erns would always try and lift his leg on his flowers as we walked by, making the owner run out yelling waving his arms like a banshee. Erns ran straight through the middle of the buckets sending them flying like bowling pins in a bowling lane, before coming to a halt as the table became caught between a post and a bin.

ERNIE HAS A BUS RIDE.
I was once again at the village when I stopped to talk to a friend. Ernie was being good so I had the lead relaxed in my hand. A school bus stopped beside us. Ernie lunged pulling the lead out of my hand and jumped up the steps of the back door of the bus. The doors closed before I knew what had hapened. (Yes did learn a lesson).
I ran after it and could see all the the kids jumping up and down and yelling. having a great time. I think the bus driver was deaf not to hear all the racket.
Luckily for me the 3rd stop was a busy one. I knew if I cut through the church then through a private yard I could possibly get to the stop. Running like crazy, climbing 2 fences  I managed to get on before the driver closed the doors. The driver was oblivious to all the excitement. Next stop took my boy off the bus.
